G'Day

Say Hi and introduce yourself

G'Day

Hey all,

I recently had an urge to start making moonshine (and other spirits) after watching many shows about it and it's amazing history and traditions!

I have already made my first and second batch and it turned out great for a rank amateur! In saying that, I have a lot of refining and improving to go. I purchased my still, thumper and worm (mix of stainless and copper), cracked corn, sugar, malt extract and yeast, cooked it and then fermented for 8 days then distilled it. What a fun and extremely interesting pastime! Lol

The reason I am doing this is a mixture of fun, curiosity, stick it up the establishment and enjoying something I made myself!

I do have some questions but thanks for reading my first post!

Shine on!

Welcome mate...

Chuck a pic of your still up, if it's the still I'm thinking of then the thumper is probably too small... I may well be wrong though.

Thanks mate

I got it from ebay;

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-30L-Copp ... 19edba1c89

It works brilliantly for a newbie to get started and experiment. Once I have read all the info on here and other sites (and it seems never ending, lol) and perfected the process and product, I will most likely upgrade this Still. I use an outdoor gas burner and a stainless steel bench to sit everything on.
