G'day

Hows it all going? You'll have to bear with me I'm a first-time forum poster, hope I get it right. So a bit about me, as usual I've gone at this stilling thing like a bull at a gate and didn't do too much research. I made a pot still for my dad a while back and pretty much made it how he wanted. Well once he started cooking I thought I can do better than him so I made my own bobakob to show him up that's when I started resurching and found being a burbon drinker I really should have a pot still too so now I have both. I have used them both twice now and I love the ease of the pot still, much less complicated. Anyway that's a start and thanks for sharing you knowlage I have learnt heeps since reading this forum. Cheers

Thanks guys. The thumper is a bit of crap I found at the scrapy's that was perfect cause it already had a seal I just welded a bottom and a couple of hold downs to it and I was away.the inlet is a circle made of copper pipe with a heap of holes drilled in it. as for the parrot I found that design on the net and love the fact you can get real time mesurment without the mess.the photos aren't great but you get the idea.

Is that a rubber seal on the thumper?

Lose the rubber and either use a natural cork with a hole in it, or a heap of laps of thread tape. Rubber is no good mate.

Bit lazy tonight so I'm just going to throw up a link, a large one of these will get you stilling until you can source a nice piece of natural cork
