Roger,
For a sugar wash, you cant beat the TPW for cost & end taste, most other recipes call for pot distillation, Bubbler, or a de-tuned reflux, so that you can carry flavour through.
You could partially de-tune the T500 and do a CFW (Corn Flake Whiskey), Nutrigrain whiskey, or a Weetbix wash, all come out very nice and give you that step up to grain mashes, and all recipes can be found on the forum.
Try looking through the tried & proven, then have a browse at the recipe development section.
cheers

Did you do cuts? Did you mix all your jars together? :-B

Yes I did 1 2many. I did a run of the TPW and did 500ml cuts. I did a small test then conscripted my partner and daughter to tell me what they thought. There was very little smell difference and my taste test confirmed they were all very similar. So.... put them all together again!! Will put a few more TPW through and see if this is consistent. Not sure if my smell isn't attuned, but there was a huge difference from the smell of the turbo!

Have now run several TPW's and they are hands down much better than the turbo yeasts. Even though I am using essences, have come across a few that are eminently drinkable!! Still struggling with telling a lot of difference from the cuts of the T500 other than the fore shots. Thanks to all here for comments and trawling through other posts. It has been invaluable

Hi Roger ...

I've been having the same difficulty in distinguishing between fractions ... Thinking there must be something wrong with my nose !!

Are there many other T500 users having the same trouble?

You might be smearing your heads through a lot of the run... I'm not familiar with the whole run, but try running it slower :handgestures-thumbupleft:
