Hi

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hi

Postby Shiftynev » Fri Sep 19, 2014 1:01 pm

Hi to all,

I've been researching/reading and thought it about that I jump in anad introduce myself, so hello to all.

I'm new to distilling but it looks interesting and I hope to get some fun out of it. The members on the site seem to be a great bunch and that was probably why I joined.

I've just picked up a 50 ltr keg in really good condition for $40, removed the spear and will shortly grab some copper and hopefully put tegether a 2" pot still if all goes well I'll then build a reflux or because I'm a lazy prick, I'll probably buy one of Mac's modular stills (equalizer of neutralizer) they both look great. Once I start putting it together I'll post some pics.

Cheers

PS. I picked up the keg in Brunswick, if anyone local or otherwise wants details pm me and I'll let you know.

Hi Shiftynev, that keg is an excellent start and you got it for the right sort of money. You cannot go wrong putting a 2 inch pot on top of it to get yourself under way. Welcome!

Welcome shiftynev, I would agree that a pot is an awesome place to start out, i have made some of my best whiskey / rum from a 2" pot.
