Hi Everyone

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hi Everyone

Thought I'd introduce myself. I've been distilling for about 6 years but have only been doing turbo washes. I'm a bourbon man and although I've made plenty of drinkable faux bourbons using oak and essences every time I buy a real bottle I see what I'm missing. I now have a 2 inch pot still and I'm on my 5th generation of UJSM. Looking at doing a spirit run soon.

My next batch will be a BWKO using Caramalt. Eventually I want to go AG and buy a bubbler

I'm in the process of building my keg boiler but not having a great deal of success soft soldering my 2 inch triclamp ferrule for my FSD element. Can anyone recommend someone that does good stainless TIG welding? Preferably NOR.

Thanks
Matt

Hey MP , :greetings-waveyellow:
Welcome to the wonderful world of home distillation.
The Macwhisky recipe is a winner. Done a few versions of differing malt and grain but the original is the winner.
Weldless elements at my place so can't help ya there.

Welcome here mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Isn't it a weird feeling when you realise what that turbo shit was you were using for all those years :laughing-rolling:

Thanks Urrazeb and McStill, I had another go at soldering tonight with much better results. It's water tight and seems pretty bloody strong but time will tell.

Sam - turbo is easy but a bit rough!
