Ill start off by saying what a good site this is and prompted me to buy the T500 still, made my first batch this week and came out after distilling at 92% and 3.3ltrs worth which i am more than happy with for a first attempt, hopefully i will one day move on to more professional ways of making alcohol rather than just using the normal bags of sugar, yeast and water, cheers :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

Welcome mate. If we have prompted you to get into the hobby, surely you've seen that we suggest you move away from the turbo yeast shit and have a crack at a TPW?

And have you read about cuts and fractions?

Oh, and what spirits do you intend to drink? Vodkas, or whiskey/rum/brandy etc?

Tomato paste to start with was not on the cards as i wanted to dabble first to see what the results were like using the standard turbo yeast and sugars that came with the still, that saying i will try something different next time,my wife loves her cocktails so anything goes and i like my jack daniels or jim beam, not into whisky as it sends me bonkers

Sounds like you need a bubbler!

You'll also find that both Beam and JD's are Whiskey, and I'd hazard a guess at saying that you'll be leaving the stuff that 'sends you bonkers' with commercial whiskies in your feints jar once you make your cuts ;-)

Welcome mate,

As Zak said, try the TPW buddy. It's cheaper than using turbo anyway, so dabble away with that :handgestures-thumbupleft:

G'day mate :greetings-waveyellow: welcome,

I would have thought reading this site would have prompted you to buy/build a bubbler not a T500 :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

Just messing with ya mate, plenty of blokes round here started with the t500 and some still use them and get on ok with them. Just probably not the best for ya bourbons thats all.

welcome aboard and enjoy
