Welcome West Aussie.
You got the right idea mate. Read, read and read. Once you can see the simplicity of the whole process, you should be right to go.

WoW thanks for all the welcome messages, and encouragement. It seems to get a bit easier to understand, and makes a bit more sense each time I re-read (i.e. slow learner) :?

Woodduck, only the Air still at this point in time, and I am mainly interested in Whiskey and something that might taste a lot like Southern Comfort. (for the swmbo)
I am partial to Wild Turkey American Honey too, but one thing I have learned already is to not try to mimic any proprietary labels, but rather create my own which I like as much or more.

This is my first attempt at distilling for 40 years.
The last attempt ended with a half a dozen Customs & Excise officers tearing my house apart, even after I handed them my crude home made still. A lot seems to have changed in the last 45 years :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Oh dear!!!! And here I thought they must be turning a blind eye given that you can buy all the stuff in any major town.
So, the advice is to not broadcast it then it seems.
