Say Hi and introduce yourself

Wannabe from karratha

Greetings all,
Having been introduced to moonshine through a family member, I cannot wait to start distilling my own.
Looking to build my own still, wondering if anyone has made a bubble cap still with a reflux coil cooling system at the top of the column, and if there is any point! I've heard that if you pull like 95% you lose quite a bit of the flavour profiles of the corn and grains...
Cheers for the great info on safety and recipes in the forums.

H i mate welcome aboard :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Not to sure what you mean about a reflux coil on a bubble cap plate, generally with a plated still we use what is called a reflux condenser "RC" but it has straight through tubes. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome mate.

Probably better off sticking with the shotgun RC, but it would be interesting to see how a coil would work!
