Here's a joke for you.

Man walks into a tradelink store, asks for 1 metre of 1 inch copper pipe.

Storeman behind the counter says 'that will be $80'

Man says 'Are you serious?'

Storeman says 'well I shouldn't do it but I can give it to you for $75 with a trade discount'

yeah not a funny joke though :angry-banghead: some one suggested/got told that they had a bit of a bet on between stores on who could rip of a walk in customer the most , well with inch pipe varying from $11 to $87 per mtr for no trade prices I'd be shocked (refuse to believe) to discover that there was no such bet on . Time the ACCC steps in here and begins prosecuting this wholly criminal activity , which it in fact is

FAR CANAL yeah not a bad mark up guessing around 1700% I bought one the other day for the rainwater tank from the local Ned kellys hardware and thought $7.50 was a bit steep but I wasn't about to go to the big smoke to save $2.50

Anyone from perth know where to get cheap 6mm soft annealed tube, parkwoods only does 30m for $82.5 or polyaire does combination so you have to buy 1/4 and 3/16 together and that's like $92.50 i only need 2m max kinda torn on what to do seems a waste getting the whole 30m at that price

I know a still builder type fella that always has a roll of 3/8 & 1/4 in his shed, if you bribe him with beer he's usually pretty easy going about giving a bit away :laughing-rolling:

:text-+1: You have to buy 30m though, but it worked out around $2/metre...compared to the $11/metre I had been quoted at ReepeOff.

For those in Newcastle, here's a few prices from Plumbers' Supplies Co-Op in Broadmeadow:

4" (100mm) Joiner = $43.61 (The only thing I was shocked at :scared-eek: )
2" (50mm) Joiner = $2.84
2" End cap = $7.20
1.5" (32mm) End cap = $1.67
2" 90deg elbow = $9.32
4" -> 3" Reducer = $13.37
3" -> 2" Reducer = $7.63
2" -> 1.5" Reducer = $2.97
2" -> 1" Reducer = $2.97
1.5" -> 1" Reducer = $1.52
1" -> 1/2" Reducer = $1.82

Also had to go to Eagles for 3" (80mm) Joiner = $14.80

& Reece (I know :o ) for 1" (25mm) End cap = $5.90

I need a little less than 15 m of 6mm soft drawn copper.

So I'm buying a 30m roll.

That's the cheap way.

I will have about 15m left over.

Are you on the Sunshine Coast ?
Do you want to buy 7.5/15m of soft drawn copper at $3/m ?
It will be here next week.

pm me if you're interested.
