That's what I use and they work well. They seal up nice and tight and are the perfect size to put down a rum wash for a 50L keg and leave some head space for foam.

Just takes a few cleans to get the olive smell out of them

Picked up a couple of these today, what would be the best way to clean them, hot soapy water or something else?

I use napisan unscented (the pink one) for all my brew cleaning - it's cheap and i normally use a capful per 30 litres of water for real dirty stuff. Fill up fermenter and let it soak at least a day for uncleaned ones (2 days is better if its real nasty with oils and stuff inside), then scrub the daylights out of it. Make sure you put a tap in it before you do all this or you will have some fun later.

Napisan can just be rinsed off with water and you are good to go.

Thanks for the tip about napisan, i will see if i can get some tomorrow. I wasn't going to put a tap in it, just use a siphon hose. What do you mean that i will have some fun if i don't put a tap in?

You can buy Sodium Percarbonate (which is what Napisan is) from decent home brew shops...you will get it much stronger for less...a tub of it cost me about $7, and ive used about 10% of it in over a year (it's only a teaspoon in a litre or so of water)...so about 70 cents a year then ;-)

If you are prepared to siphon then you are doing better than my first attempt hahaha
