CIP to fit 3" cap on boiler

Postby WicketNut » Tue Jul 28, 2015 5:42 pm

I have one of Macs 100 boilers and I want to look at a CIP solution, but I have zero experience with these. If it is possible, I intend to have the spray ball left on the 3" port at the top of the boiler permanently (during runs) and simply use it at the end for cleaning.

something like this is what I have in mind:

Questions are:

1 - can I leave it there permanently? Will is get clogged? I presume I will need a ball value above it, and this would allow me to have mains water plumbed permanently and run it real easy.

2 - Is there something like this in Australia?

3 - Has anyone else used a CIP system and how effective is it? (Is it worth it or not?)

Thanks for any advice.

Only saw this post viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8421 after I put this on, but my questions still remain I guess.
