This could be it. Benjamin port by Mildara wines.

I was wrong about the red wax but it would have been about 1991 when I was at uni that last drank it. The crap I used to think was good then still scares me.

Had that about 1998 when I was visiting a friend in Margaret river who told me it was a good one. From memory I didn't think it was too bad. My taste buds have changed however so it might not be as good as I remember. The bottle looks good and even with the port works out cheaper than getting special bottles from the USA.
Will duck down and see if I can locate a couple though looks like dan murphys don't stock it.

Didn't think of the gardening center. Will have to have a look at Bunnings :-D
Found these two amongst my port collection which would be perfect but too much of a shame to crack them open.

Anyway, will continue to look.

Those were at a fairly boutique nursery, don't know how much luck you'll have at Bunnings but its a good excuse to head there on a weekend anyway, not just for the sausage sizzle. :laughing-rolling:

Ok done as best I can. Used home brew shop red wine bottles with port corks and wax to seal.
Running out of time to get them bottled and done.
The dark rum smells amazing but I still don't like the taste of rum.
Came up better than I thought and am just going to stick some family photos with book covering materials to personalize them.

:handgestures-thumbupleft: the wax is a nice touch. I did this for a bottle I gave to a mate for his 30th but made the mistake of using one of the missus scented candles for the wax. Now he has a scented bottle of whisky :laughing-rolling:

Couldn't find bottle wax for love nor money. This is mad Millie cheese wax which worked fine.

A bit late to the party but I think Sealing Wax is what you're after warramungas.

Yep. Couldn't remember the name on my last post so just winged it.
The brain pan doesn't seem to fire like it used to.

That's about the neatest home made wax seals I've seen.

As a matter of interest, do you just invert the bottle and dip it in the wax to make that seal?

Cheers Phil

Melted over water in a small glass bowl to the right depth then dipped about 6 to 10 times upside down.
Really wanted to get that makers mark drip but the wax just wont do it like the plastic will.
