Basic all grain lager recipes for beginners.

I'm new to brewing and distilling so I'm looking for real basic recipes to learn technique and flavores etc
I've decided to start with all grain biab from the get go.

For my first batch I'm thinking of a biab with 1 type of malted barley and a single type of hops then slowly fermented for a
Lager.
Anyone got a recipe for something like this that is just really easy to get half right. A lot of the recipes seem to be very complicated with multiple malts and hop types.

Also interested in very basic reciples for other beers. I like nearly all beer types.

Looks like I'll be using a 23 litre batch.

Thanks

Simon

Just found this one, thought a pale might suit our current weather in bris.
Ill leave the ale til winter.

I have changed it to make it even easier,
original amount have been converted but unchanged.

Pale ale. 20 litre batch size.

Ingredients:
* 4 kg Pale Ale Malt
* 25g of Cascade Hops for 60 minutes
* 25g of Cascade Hops for 10minutes
* 25g of Cascade Hops dry-hopped for 7-14 days
* 1 tsp Irish Moss

Best pale yeast for 20c ferment?

Procedure:
Mash for one hour at 67c or until starch conversion is complete.
Mash out at 77c
Bring to a boil.
Add first hop addition and start timer.
After 50 minutes, add second addition of hops and the Irish moss.
As you turn off the heat, stir in the final hop addition.
chill to 20c
Pitch yeast and ferment at 20c for 7-10 days or until fermentation is complete
Let rest for 7-14 days at 20c and bottle

What do you guys think?
Enough hops?

Thanks

Simon

Have a look at adding rice add 20% 1 kilo to 4kilo of malt grain have used jasmine rice and did add an interesting flavor mashed at lower temperature longer to get a dryer beer .The rice adds a lot of alcohol and will be a high alcohol beer.
I put the rice through a burr coffee grinder but this is not needed just boil and then add water to get 72 Celsius add a cup of the crushed malt grain to convert rice gets very thick when it cools down even worse when ground mix it up should liquefy quickly let it cool to add the crushed malt grain and do a long low mash.

Why are we talking about an ale yeast when the thread title is lager? Might need to edit the title

He's fermenting at 20c. That's an ale range and perfectly suited to US05. Lager fermenting is down towards the 10-11c. range.

Shouldn't need to dry hop for more than 5-7 days - personally I don't reckon its worth the extra cost.
Ferment for 14 days (can go longer no probs). Secondary ferment in the bottle for 14 days.
A good all round amount of dextrose or sugar is 7gms/litre if youre pre-primng in a secondary bucket. Don't use those carbonation drops they're crap. Any higher and you risk blowing up bottles or excessive head.
Cheers.

Yeah, that's what i'm getting at, maybe I should change the thread title as this has become nothing to do with a lager. :-B
