Just a quick question to the beer guru's out there
Is the dosage rate the same for dried hop flowers as it is for pellets?

bay,

As a rule of thumb, dried hop cones are roughly 10% off the same AA levels as pellets so x 1.1 as a general rule. if they are "fresh" ie wet can't help you on 2 levels weight basis is not the same and fresh are yet to reach expected aa levels so difficult to predict aa levels.

What I would suggest is grab a copy of Brewmate software, its free, play with the hop weights and aa levels to work out what you should use.

From personal experience, if its flowers for aroma /dry hopping = great as it adds a level of freshness ideal for Galaxy, Centennial, Cascade, Nelson, Amarillo etc

Makes no difference when it boiled for bittering it's just a slightly bigger saucepan = if your down 10% on aa you can extend boil time to get same ibu's

Cheers bt1 ,it was pride of ringwood just for bittering. I just used the same amount as for pellets as the AA was the same and hoped it will be ok :handgestures-thumbupleft:
My first crack at an aussie AG larger
