Postby CyBaThUg » Wed Nov 11, 2015 5:01 pm

It will work fine but I think your Co2 consumption might rise. :-B

MUCH easier method, grab a pair of these and fit them to the standard coupler for that keg

If you don't have the spear anymore then the coupler idea with corny fittings won't work

Good point, but that shouldn't be to hard to sort out. just need some small gauge staino tube to connect to the fitting. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

This idea got shelved for a while just to be clear the connection and spear from the keg is gone so it's just an open hole does this coupler screw into the thread or press into the fitting which is gone

With no Spear or Dip Tube, you will have to weld the Corny outlet fitting onto the vessel at a low point, above the sediment high tide line (if you get it in your keg). The CO2 fitting can go up top and you will need to create some type of filling method that won't cause the beer to foam-up when filling it. You will need to plate the hole you created, fittings could go on that, but you will need a Dip Tube in one of them.

Those fitting mentioned above need Keg Stumps to screw onto.

Might b easier just to weld the spear and fitting on a blank and use a tri lover clamp and weld the other fitting on top of the keg

That way I can remove the blank and use that as the fill port

Same way cub does with a keg coupler send beer down the liquid line and off gas it by the gas line
Over time I have transferred dozens of kegs

Never seen it done so wouldn't know how to pump beer down the line or even wash the keg out after each beer

The spear has holes at the top just below the coupler, where the gas comes in, so usually cleaning solution is sprayed at high pressure through the gas inlet, then pumped up out of the liquid out after soaking for a while.
Then rinse and a small amount of santiser would be added and swirled about to coat all surfaces before being drained

To fill beer in, you just purge the keg with CO2, then hook the beer coming in to the beer out line, and vent the CO2 before allowing the beer to come in

To wash a keg they are turned upside down then a coupler is fitted.
Be sure to remove the beer one way valve in the coupler...
Also vent the gas outlet to your cleaning solution tank
Cleaning solution is then pumped into the beer coupler up the keg spear.
The solution sprays over the entire keg internally and then comes out the gas post.
Repeat for rinse and sanitizer
