Well the Yanks call it Panty Dropper but we're not Yanks, are we? I present to you;

The G Dropper.

I've left the 'Strawberry' out because this will work just as well with most types of berries, so we'll add the flavour later on. This obviously isn't my recipe because people have been making this stuff for years, I've just gathered the consensus and added some pretty pictures.

You can use just about any kind of berries; strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries etc etc. Some other fruits also work, but not all. We'll work on getting a list together ;-) Fresh berries will work, but freezing them breaks down the cells in the fruit and lets the alcohol extract more of the flavour.

Guys have reported success with everything from 40% neutral to azeo, but generally they say between 55% and 65% ABV. Most guys now use neutral, but they've been making it with white dog UJ etc for years as well.

So! You've got your frozen berries and your spirit and you're keen as.

The quantities don't really matter, just fill a jar with frozen berries, and cover them with spirit, like so;

I used raspberries (left) and mixed (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries) on the right. I didn't have any strawberries on hand.

A little squirt of lemon juice or a touch of citric acid here reportedly helps to keep the colour and flavour vibrant...

After a few days, most of the juice from the berries will be extracted. Drain the liquid into a separate jar or bottle.

Now you want to add some white sugar to the berries, to drag the last of the goodness out of the fruit. Here you can also see the bottles of spirit (again, raspberry on the left and mixed on the right)

Some people shake the jar, remove the syrup and add more sugar every day, others say to add a bit more sugar at the start and just leave it alone until it's all dissolved and then drain the syrup after a few days. You'll work out what works for you... Either way, you want to repeat the process until there is no more juice being extracted from the berries.

After you stop getting any more syrup out the berries, you can now mix your original spirit with the syrup until you get the flavour you want, and lastly add water until you reach the ABV% you desire.

Enjoy!
