Did you plant from seeds or a seedling?
I've got a bunch of dried seeds, but don't know if it might be a bit to late to get them into a pot

NICE looking plant there! What else do you grow?
Do you make chilli sauce?

My current seedlings are:
Carolina Reaper
Aji Lemon
Ebony Fire
Yellow 7 pod
Monster Naga

Have mature plants:
Trindad Scorp Butch T
Bhut Jolokia
Red Cayenne
Orange Hab
Red Hab
Fatali
Ebony Fire

I didn't have much yield from the Trinidad scorpion here, wild changes in temps kept causing flower drop

But what do they taste like?
The orange/yellow habs have a nice flavour, not just heat.

If you want a good sauce recipe, try this one.
Hot Sauce recipe

Have been using that for awhile.... damn nice.

If you have seeds of any that are tasty..... I'd be happy to grab some. :D :D Please :D :D
Currently only growing birds eye, the long red ones in the shops thai chillis, and some a neighbour gave us... not extra hot but taste nice.

Agreed - there's a touch of citrus about them. Orange habs are about the only ones I grow these days, apart from Jalepenoes occasionally to slice up and put on pizzas.

DBV it's interesting you say that about the heat vs flavour I really like the flavour of the scorpion last year but found the aji limon almost unbearable even though the Trinidad is much higher in Scoville

Not sure why, but was reading that if the plant is in poorer soil it makes hotter chillies.
No mention of how to extract better flavour though.

Don't take that as Gospel..... just what I was reading about chillies and the heat they produce.

By stressing a chilli plant you can indeed increase the heat level dogbreath vodka
Limiting water to my superhots until the leaves begin to droop helps a lot. Also find the hotter the weather the hotter the chilli (long dry hot summers are the best for mega burrrrrrrrrn) :music-deathmetal:
