Well last night the planets aligned and the gods got together, and I FINALLY sent Mac my FSD shopping list.

On the way is

6" still port
3" sightglass fill port
A 3600w and a 2400w element
And all of the clamps, glass, seals etc I need

It's also looking like I might possibly have Sunday off too, and I'm keen as to get the last of the copper bits ready for the arrival of the stainless Five Star shinies :music-deathmetal:

Back on track for a Xmas 2016 finish :laughing-rolling:

"There was movement at the station for the word had got around,
That Zak had the five star shine bits
The lack of which had his build run aground,

Now his brand new shed has arisen from the earth,
Ready for the next round of building,
He'd no longer be the reason for all the forums cheeky mirth"

Great to see some progress - keep at it Zak :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

with the FSD gear on the way you will be itching to finish it. looks like its all (finally :P) coming into place.

if agrajag wins still build of the month it might need to be changed to "still build of the many many months"

What is the first wash you are going to run through (after cleaning)

What was your technique for soldering the plates in?

Get the plate in and level, as close as possible to sealed (impossible with thin walled pipe like mine isn't perfectly round.

Throw heat and solder at it until there are no more gaps. I did it bit by bit, trying not to heat the whole column/plate up too much...

Next!

Not very scientific and pretty ugly. Next time will be a lot better looking :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Eh Zac with my build I started with hard solder and silly me used ALL of the stock that I would of thought would last a life time so went and bought some Aquasafe soft solder and never looked back. 12 asked why I soldered my perf plates, well secondhand pipe just aint round and yes I did soft solder mine in 20mm below the 3" site glass pipe. No problems at all one just needs to put the heat where it is needed and not everywhere to unsolder every other joint done.

Now $$$ is the reason my bubbler is taking so long to make and as I know what you do whats your excuse mate ( I do remember you talking about it when we at that funny farm ( I meant shutdown))
