Sorry to resurrect this guys, but I am curious as to what the 500mm extension was for? Is it a necessary addition or was it to raise the height of the bottom of the PC?

The 500mm section, packed with copper mesh/stainless scrubbers etc is for making neutral :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Have a read of the links in my signature, copperhead. A spoiler alert: Agrajag is a saga that still hasn't finished.

Yer will do Zak :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Wish I had the skills and tools required to pull off builds like you guys, it's such awesome work but for people like me that pay someone to make it those rigs cost 3 g and up for a 1 off custom build.

Awesome awesome awesome :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You don't have to have great skills to have a go. Heaps of people on here have had no experience at all and made beautiful rigs. Start with a simple pot still to learn how to cut and solder the copper and then go from there, you won't know till you try.
Have a read of the build threads and you will be inspired.

Currently having a makeover: 2" x 4 plate solid state bubbler (1" bubble caps, no sight glasses...maybe not for much longer!) on a bain-marie boiler.
