Hey guys, thanks.

Quick update.

I've been back to the doc with regards to my arm. I've started losing strength in my grip and have been forced to get a second opinion.
I go in to day surgery on the 19 sept for an ultrasound guided cortisone needle into the sheath around the nerve in my forearm. If after 4-6weeks I have pressure relief they will open me up and operate to release all the pressure.

So, sad to say that my build had come to a mad grinding stop. Bit sad as I was well on the way to be cutting and soldering sight glasses onto my modules but sometimes other things are more important.

Bubbler will get done in time. I'm on 2 weeks holidays with my wife as this will be the only time we could before surgery & with xmas approaching with her in retail.

I'll update this thread if I get any small bits achieved in between when the wife isn't look....

All the best with the operation on Thursday.
Keep safe and healthy.

Short story.
I was living in Rockhampton in the 90's
Decided to explore the art of knife making.
Got in contact with an old bloke that was a blacksmith in times gone by, but now made knives for fun.

He made some nice stuff, BUT.
When smithing it jarred his arm and hands to the point that eventually he couldn't even pick up a hammer.
He related that some of the boys at work would tease him by saying stuff like "I'll give you 50 quid to pick up that hammer."
Just wasn't possible.
Years later he still had problems but use of his arm/hands came back.
Then he started making knifes and forging steel for fun.

Reason for the story
The human body had amazing regenerative powers.
We just have to give it a chance and make changes to stop was that caused the issues.

May not be what is happening to you, just a thought.

Again all the best for the op.

Thanks for the thoughts DBV. I really appreciate it! Tomorrow is the start of a long road of "Fault finding" as I have 3 problems with the elbow/forearm and now wrist. I'll find out in 6 weeks a way forward!

May need to look at a job change in the future as being away from metal working for a period may help and allow it to fix itself, as you said.

Thanks for the thoughts DBV.

All went well.

Just in recovery waiting for the wife to pick me up.

Good news is I had a 70percent reduction in pain so next step is probably an operation on the radial nerve that goes from your shoulder down over the forearm. This is going to solve halve my pain problems as it's nerve related.

Bad part is more waiting but I'm chock full of happy drugs for the time being!

So, it's been a difficult 2 weeks. Was told the aggravation around the radial nerve would settle in 5 days. Instead the surgeon punctured numerous veins & the result is this, pain like I've had my arm run over by a B-Double.

I'm on Tramadol at night for the pain. Hopefully it'll clear up soon as it's pretty fucking sore.

Not doing anything with my right arm (I'm right handed) is killing me! Can't even do my pants up! On the plus side, the wife is helping with that Haha!

Well its been a while since updating this thread. I haven't got anything done.

I have had all the pain return during the last 12 weeks and the steroid injection didn't help at all. Go back & see Orthopaedic surgeon on the 11th Dec for a book in date for an operation.

I gave been diagnosed with Radial Tunnel Syndrome or Radial Nerve Syndrome.

The operation hopefully gives up to 80 percent recovery back to normal use. Here's hoping!
