That's the sizes I used and they work fine :handgestures-thumbupleft: I only went the 1 1/4" because I thought they looked better. Some might say there is too much liquid sitting in there but I work on the fact that it is always moving so it should be fine.

Nice one thug, I can't really see in the picture but you'll need a breather spout on the parrot. It prevents surging and stops your alcometer bobbing.

I hear ya mate. It’s terribly unfortunate that they are having a few health issues because they do sell really good stuff and at a good price. All we can do is wish them a speedy recovery and prey they are up and going again soon.

And on the elements, well I can't find anything like Mac's out there. I have heard that the keg king one's are unreliable so that pretty much leaves you with fleabay and a $50 punt on one of theirs or a hot water heater element from a plumbing store. I used one of those in my early boiler and it seemed ok but I didn't use it that much to know it’s longevity sorry. And it was alot harder to fit, I had to make flanges to bolt it into.

Try Stokes appliances for immersion elements .
