I've been busy.

I added 2" sight glasses and a 2" fill port at the bottom of the column.

I decided to give it a bit of a cleanup with sandpaper.

I haven't got round to cleaning up the RC and PC though, not sure that I will. I also thickened up the flanges either side of the RC because they were a bit temperamental and leaked occasionally. Now they're all good. I modified the plumbing so it's more straightforward and takes up less space.

I had an old parrot from when I made my 2" bubbler but there wasn't much point in having a parrot on a 2" bubbler. Anyway, I tried modifying it a while back and stuffed it right up. I got a streak of inspiration and ended up fixing it up again. I also made up a cone reducer (2" to 3/8") for it.

It's currently soaking and it'll be ready for a vinegar run then a sacrificial run.

Gonna be seeing some bubbles for the first time soon :happy-partydance:

Not, yet, soaking in citric at the moment and I'll do a vinegar run soon, next few hours. I haven't put down a sacrificial wash yet but I've got enough feints, dodgy old runs (that I was going to redistill) and a couple of jars of the cleaning product from my original cleaning run, such that I can dilute down to about 20 L of 10 %. Think I'll run that tomorrow.

I'll put down a weetbix wash for its first proper run this arvo too.

Found a leak in the RC, wasn't there before I modified it. Took a while to fix so I didn't get round to doing the vinegar today. Tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments guys :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Vinegar and sacrificial runs done today.

Got to see bubbles for the first time :D

No leaks (apart from my dodgy parrot but I fixed them up). My bottom plate wouldn't load at first, but after a bit I wondered if I wasn't throwing enough power at it. I was running on 2000 W without insulation on the boiler, so I wrapped it up in an old blanket and within a couple of minutes the bottom plate loaded up nicely. Happy times.

While I've said for a while now that sight glasses aren't necessary, they are damn cool :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Maybe I'll shine up the RC and PC and put up another photo some time soon.

Thanks for the name suggestion hillz's. Eve sounds pretty fitting :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hahaha, we were toying with different ideas for a while - naming makes it easier to communicate with others... someone suggested Crystal... but that got messy especially when there were a number of Crystal Meth labels and haul busts going on... never went back to naming it...

Eve in her new home today.

I have grand plans for this space :D

Yes, I know the slab in the foreground is rubbish, probably going to pour some epoxy on it and make it nice and smooth.

Nice db!
At least you'll have a dedicated spot for your gear even if it isn't fancy, mine is spread around the place in different cupboards and i have to set it up under the pergola each time.
A bit of work in there and it will come up a treat. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
