Cheers fellas. I'll check the still on the weekend when I can do another run. Bayshine, I'll see if the local sparky can help. I might see if he can rig a power controller.

I think it is a leak. Mine starts off at 90-92%. Then drops to 86-88% by 3rd cut. 3 plate is always most vigorous bubbler. I don’t use power controller just 1 x 2. 4 kw. Element after initial bubbler. Just check and replace that seal- is the sight glass around the correct way with indent for bubbler on correct way round.

Hope this helps

Cheers Guys.
Started a run this arvo. Filled the 100L boiler. Put on 4 plates. Connected everything - 1 heating element keeps tripping the power. Swapped power points, leads and circuits - it is the element. Tie to order another.

Pumped 100L back into the fermenter and hooked up the 50L Keg boiler. Filled the 50L and waiting for heat up one 1 element. It has been awhile since running the 50L - I think I could get up to temp with 1 element.

Will order another element, organise the sparky and see if I can get a power controller hooked up or splitting into 2 x 1200 Watts as Bayshine suggested.

Looks like its next weekend till I can run the 100L boiler...

How did your run go mate... did it make any difference on the 50lt keg? Did your abv hold steady or did it drop of like on your 100lt boiler?

Bayshine. yep the run went fine on the 50L boiler. Found a small leak easily fixed. Currently holding 96 with no drop in abv% or flow rate. All good!!!!!

Good to hear mate. So it sounds like elements then? :-B  could they be switched easily from one to the other to see if that's the problem?
