PC almost finished today just got to add 1/2 brass fittings on for water inlet and outlet same for RC. Can I soft solder copper to brass?

Still a long way to go but starting to look like something. Bubbles are a bit closer..

Absolutely, just like copper to copper.

Progress today.. soldered all my easy flanges on with only 2 left to go. One on the RC and one on the PC. Two things..1 I probably wont take up soldering stills together for a living, and 2. Yes you see correct I wrapped my 2" flanges around my PC with no way of getting them off. Sort of thinking I should of went 4 plates, but hoping for heavy rum..will get clothes for her off Andrew when some funds come in

Nice work nathan :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Coming along very nicely... I'm pretty sure they still do the job, even if the soldering isn't neat as a pin. It adds a bit of character, i know cause mine has some. :laughing-rolling:

The clamps should cover most of your solder work, but you can always grind and sand it down if you like.

Morning guys, I'm looking to make a start on my seals for my easy flanges. I was going to go down the road of the silicone baking sheet. I remember seeing somewhere vaguely about a post exposing the integrity of home made deals, and them standing up to heat and ethanol. Can anyone help with recommending an exact product to use?

If your using silicon baking mat fold it and squeeze the fold and see if it turns white. If it does it's no good, it means it has other plastics in it. There is a thread somewhere just not sure where, too early in the morning :laughing-rolling:

When I finished my bubbler I made up some PFTE seals, just cut some 1.6mm thick gasket paper then started wrapping the tap around. Off memory i used 2 rolls for each seal and they worked a treat. When I pull the still apart it clear they did the job and the next time I need to use them I just wrap more tape around the seal. The secret is if the seals are not being used they must kept flat and a bit of weight can help.

Cheers Bryan
