Perforated & bubble cap plated columns

packed section

Postby ed9362 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 1:09 pm

HI guys, I have come across a small plated column still that I would like to add a packed section to so I can make neutral.

for the packing is it ok to just use copper mesh stuffed into a column extension or should I get some saddles similar to what is in a T500.
also how tight should this section be packed, I know its a bit of a how long is a piece of string question but I don't want to pack it to tight.

cheers

ed, if you can be stuffed and have a range of copper offcuts, you could chop up bits of leftovers and use them. Sizes are not critical nor are shapes...just sayin.
As long as copper is there you will be right for sulphide removal. A good handful or so.

*Scoria
Aka volcanic rock.
Used as a decorative mulch or driveway.

Found in garden/ landscape shops.
Get the uncoloured stuff.
Break it up into small bits about 5mm.
