Hi guys, just curious if theres a template around at all that would give me a layout for the casings and where to make my cuts with the holesaw. Cheers!

As I did a test today cutting a 3/4” hole in some spare copper plate, try not using hole saws. I made a right mess. I tried fast, slow, everywhere in between, light pressur and really leaning on it and what I found happening was the hole saw was chattering and generally making a mess. I wish I had my phone with me to take some photos. The holes ended up closer to 22mm, not round and rough as guts. And that’s using a brand new Milwaukee hi-metal hole saw.

My thoughts are to try with a step drill bit. What does everyone else use??

You could try pushing a piece of wood thats a snug fit into the tube, holds the pilot drill bit steady wilst drilling with hole saws. For plate clamp it down to a piece of scrap wood should help and a little cutting fluid or trefalex may make it easier.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

Try using a step drill mate, hole saws are a pain in the arse with copper...
