Huntsmans 3" bubbler

Hey everyone, I just finished up my new bubbler so I thought I'd do the obligatory post :-D Basically it's a 3" column with 4 bubble cap plates with 2 x 1" caps per plate. Downcomers are 3/4" and 15mm above the plate, risers are 3/4" and 25mm above the plate. Plates are soldered in as the pipe was fairly old and pitted so it wouldn't seal properly as a plate tree. Column starts with a 2" to 3" reducer however the 3" portion did not fit over the pipe so I just did an internal collar on the but joint to add some strength. Also did this for the 3" to " reducer just before the 180° over the top. Rc is also 3" x 100m long with 14 x 1/2" internal pipes. Pc is 2" x 500mm long with 4 x 1/2" internal pipes. Rc, 180° and pc are all attached however the centre of the 180° will eventually be flanged to make it more compact. Also has a 550mm packed section for neutrals. All joins are easy flanged and sealing well once I got smart enough to tighten my clamps properly :angry-banghead: all thats left to do now is knock up a parrot and do my first proper run. Cheers for all the help everyone here gives, no way in hell I could have done this without all the great info on here. Sorry for the lack of pics, now that it's done my fiance has demanded I help with engagament party prep.

Cheers guys :handgestures-thumbupleft: I'm pretty sure I cut up all the plate components about 3 months ago but most of the buuld took me about a week. Honestly I didn't count the hours but I can safely say it took a good chunk out of my day, for at least 8 or 9 days. I had the week off after uni so it was basically all I did.

Nice work!

I think you finance is a keeper!! Letting you build it out in your outside entertainment area ... thats pretty special.

I had to "keep all that crap" out of sight and packed up at the end of each workshop :naughty: :))
She didn't like it much when I made the same requests when "all the Christmas decoration" crap came out!! :laughing-rolling:

Good thing the dog box is air-conditioned, HAH! :music-deathmetal:

Oh, and congratulations on the engagement!

Thanks ezi, she is most definitely a keeper :handgestures-thumbupleft: she's a fan of my limoncello so she doesn't mind too much. Woodduck i agree I would have liked to have the sightglasses but money didn't allow at the moment. Unfortunately house deposits aren't cheap :angry-banghead:
