If its not vertical the reflux would not flow through the packing right it would run down side of packed section rather than through media :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ahh. Fair enough, I thought the important time would be from vapor to liquid. Interesting.

- equipment: 50L Pot Still with two inch column into a 700mm Liebig. Also have a 19l thumper interchangeable into the setup.

As it flows over packing its is constantly going through vapour to liquid phases which pulls water from the distillate :handgestures-thumbupleft:
