I do to. I downloaded photo editor, it lets you resize the photos. Or you can email them to yourself and they will automatically resize themselves

Tomorrow i put my 1st run through the bubbler. 4 plates from what I've read, Mac rum wash 5 days mostly over 30° , Finnish 1006 gravity
I also have a TPW and a turbo wash ready but haven't cleaned the copper mesh packing which I believe is boiling it in vinegar.
Anyways, i update the runwith it.

I finally got to run my 1st go on the bubbles.
Used my 1st ever mcrum.
Alot of learning to do but it basically ran fine , I'll look at my notes tomorrow, but i think I was collecting at 2.2lt ph.
Took a generous 250ml foreshot, then 150ml cuts till J 18 ,
Then i put down a gen 2 mac rum , haddnt off when I left the shed, but it was warm and wrapped up.
I probably over thought everything today but there you go, and f r om next run i will be on rc water from a 1000lt ibc :D

Hi there fellow stillers , been a while since I've updated. I'm a quick stalker everyday,
So ,I've been brewing the Mac Rum recipe, some success and failures getting generation to finnish , but all in all i have been getting some of that rum into glass and oaking with staves , i have been hard on the cuts , generally going only for the middle third ( not sure if I've mastered this yet , as i actually don't like the taste and smell off the still ) .
Now have about 12 l at 65 % oaking , about to remove the staves from the 2 month old oaking. Ivebeen drinking from this btl , and I luv it ,guess it just tskes time or possibly I've just never drank good rum before, smmoooth as .
Also scored 5 x 260 lt blue plastic drums the other @ $15 each ,some nice fermenters.
Anyhow thanks to all the members who hsve ssid hi snd luv reading everyone else news, grest forum.

Good to hear your getting into the macrum. I find this stuff definately taste better after aging on oak, gives time for the rum flavour to really intensify.
Fermenting at a fairly warm temp helps this also. Doing it in the middle of summer works for me.
Good score with the fermenters, just be sure they are food grade though :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hi there , Dan , I've got a couple of heat belts and do my 25 Lt ferments in a old fridge ( which has just become obsolete lol )
I've been keeping the backset do i csn judt start off 2nd gens straight away, i fill milk bottle to the very top and csp and store it.
Ive just brought a ph pen I'm sure it will help.
Last couple of runs i added a jar or 2 of the first of tails into hearts.
Yes the blue drums had USA almonds in them.
Also never really been a spirit sipper, but it could become regular now i like the stuff lol
On a side note Dan , did you guys get a crop this year ?

Yep, its hard to not sip a bit more often when there is a good stash of topshelf liqueur in the cupboard 8-}
Harvest is a couple weeks away at this stage depending on the weather. We were lucky enough to have a good splash of rain a while back which saved quite a few crops from a disaster. All in all we are doing a lot better than others further north.
