4″ FSD Neutralizer

Postby Ned » Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:46 pm

Hi,
Hoping some can help me with a total measurement.
I was talking to Andrew at FSD and because he did not have a 4″ FSD Neutralizer in stock was unable to give me the overall measurement.

I need the total measurement of the 4″ FSD Neutralizer plus the 50 litre milk can.

I have only got 2435mm to the ceiling, finger crossed that this will be enough.

Hopefully someone with the same setup can measure if for me. :text-thankyoublue:

I know the 50 litre milk can is a little shorter than my 100 litre one but I think you'll struggle to fit a full neutraliser into 2400mm even with a blockhead. All is not lost though. I run mine with 4 plates and strip my wash first. My current strategy is to strip 2 x 90 litre washes using a 4" pot setup then, combine the low wines and then run them though 4 plates with packed section.

My column set up is as follows (top down)

Blockhead (5 x 2 Tee)
RC
Packed section
SG Tee
SG Tee
SG Tee
SG Tee
100mm TC pipe (with recess for the bubble plate)
100 milk can
Bunnings dolly (approx 100mm high)

This all fits into my 2400mm shed with 5mm to spare. The reason for the dolly is to get the bottom of the drain tap high enough off the ground to be useful.

I have to say the neutraliser is the muts nuts and if you're considering one but are worried about the height, go with a similar configuration and run strategy to mine and you will not be disappointed.

Hope this helps you out Ned.

Yes go for gold with one of these setups. If you have height trouble drop out a tee as I think the 500mm packed section works out to be around 20 plates. So taking one tee out one plate is not going to matter too much.
