Was thinkng just 4 plates.....next project is cachaca rum. Then going to give it a run with some molases and see how i go :obscene-drinkingchug:
Do reackon a packed section for white rum is the go? Havent even thought about neutral yet mate.
Soo much much to do, soo much to drink....also looking at AG bourbon after the rum.

I havnt tried it yet but am going to. I find fresh rum has a green/grassy quality to it. Not that keen on it but I reakon the packed section would clean that up. Just not sure if it would end up too lite flavoured. I might have to play with amount of packing material used..

I would have thought a packed section would strip the rum flavour? I only use mine when making gin and neutral.

Apparently it does to a degree but you never get molasses wash neutral..

For white rum I thought they gave it a quick carbon filter once it's oaked and aged? That would strip some flavor out if that's what your after.

I keep most of my rum white straight off the still.
I like the molasses flavor :D

How many plates you use stig? I don't mind it but it gets a grassy/green taste. Like chewing on sugar cane that I am not a fan of..

I use 4 plates and run it a little faster than normal.

I read they run it thru coconut charcoal, meant to be different
