I was starting to make some t's and came across something strange. I had soaked the first piece in citric after silver brazing the site glass side arm, which cleaned every thing up nicely. After soldering the flanges, I first soaked the piece in vinager to remove the flux (seems to work better than citric for flux removal), and things started to go black around the flanges. when I soaked in citric (20%) the whole things started to darken up. it almost looked like it was starting to take on a silver coat. any ideas? never happend before :wtf:

Same happened to me to some of my caps i was making.
Its to do with a contaminated bath.
Change the water, give you copper a wipe over with a green scourer and have another go.

Or try salt and vinegar, that came up recently as a strong cleaner.

Woolies are now selling a double-strength white vinegar for not much more than the homebrand regular stuff, although that's the introductory marked down price. I'll get a bottle or 2 while its on special and see if it works any better than the regular stuff.
