Postby 8-ball » Wed Mar 28, 2012 4:41 pm

so ive finally started building my perf plate still im stealing macs modualr design as i am thinking of adding extra plates down the track to make neutral or even taking plates out for other flavours, this will be a slow build as im renovating my new house aswell, heres some pics staring with my new workshop

im fitting the plates recessed into the column just above the bottom ferrule this is just a test of my idea which im going to go ahead with unless someone that knows more than me can point out the reason why

and thats about as far as i got for now im going to expand out a column section tomorrow maybe and make some plates my lazer cutter guy failed me :angry-banghead: oh well it about time i started this project

got my plates drilled yesterday and fitted into there resting places while off work after cutting my leg to the muscle on a 2story roof needing stitches :angry-banghead: i have a tip for people drilling sieve plates if you snap a few drill bits try bluntening the tip i found i snapped 4 1.5mm bits on the first half so i attempted to sharpen one and failed but it still drilled thought 3 plates at the same time without snapping might work for the rest of you aswell

how high does the downcomer have to be im putting a 3/4 joiner in the plate and soldering the lower side and allowing an ajustable bit up top?

also got my moulded bits so my sightglasses sit nice and flush will get some pics up soon

If you use DWV copper pipe, you would not have to expand the pipe for the SS sanitary fitting! Those fittings fit great with that type of copper pipe. DWV is short for drain waste vent pipe!

Doing shotgun style was thinking of doing a 4 in shotty for the product condenser with 4 1in tubes but I think I'll stick to 2in :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Definate overkill, 4 1/2"tubes in a 2"casing is more than enough. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah long time coming thats for sure id been planning and gathering all the gear for at least 6 months prior to the thread had work restrictions and house buying plus other house stuff that needed doing that slowed down the process of the build
