Tried smoothing up the inside of the pc
Long story short, I put a hole in it and couldn’t repair the copper
Did I mention I hate soldering :laughing-rolling:

So I made a 500mm new one

Haha, thanks gents.

I’m on night shift, but am squeezing stuff into my lunch breaks.

Fittings complete for the condensers. 1/2 BSPT female like hillzabilly suggested :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It’s like Christmas morning everyday, we wake up to more shiny goodies :handgestures-thumbupleft:
What’s the third fitting on the rc for?

:laughing-rolling:

The plan is to run two return outlets for adjustability, turn the outermost ball valve off and turn the inner most ball valve on.
This will decrease the amount of time and contact the cooling water has and hopefully decrease its response time........

Maybe ...... :))

It'll fill up with air from the cooling water degassing, but it'll take a long time to for that to happen, which means your RC won't stabilise for a very long time (cause it takes ages to fill up with air from degassing) that is if you decide to change over to the shorter outlet part way through a run. So I think if you're planning on using the shorter outlet, then drain your RC first to introduce the air from the outset.

Like that idea and might pinch it :music-deathmetal: short blast past rc for brown spirits and longer one for neutral full reflux...have been thinking of enlarging my rc internals for a while but couldnt work out what to do with the extra pipe. Was gunna plate it over but it would've always looked bodgied up. This gives me a legit use for it.. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I did it because I was worried the RC would be unresponsive. :handgestures-thumbdown:
May save me fabricating a smaller RC.

Plus being modular, the RC can be flipped to change the configuration

Necessity (laziness) is the mother of invention :D

With all the lovely resources ya have ,maybe a second set of stainless plates with holes for some bubble caps and down comers from FSD,is something to consider in the crib room on nightshift.cheers hillzabilly :D

I just put another order in with FSD so have no money :laughing-rolling:
I was toying with the idea of a 6”, but think I’ll fabricate a 10L 8” thumper instead, should get me up to a flow rate I’m happy with.

Ifn ya going for a thumper ,I would only do it to a 80-100lt boiler, effort vs return ,50lt keg is fine for some ,but ifn ya see yourself needing more, the bigger set up will strip and deal with 200lt ferments with fewer runs and more output, with a good thumper adding to that maths,in short get a bigger boiler instead of building wider diameter still.cheers hillzabilly ;-)
