I got a bit more done today. I decided not to use a packed section as its almost hitting the roof with all the plates. (6 for vodka and 4 for brown spirits) :scared-eek:

Has anyone thought or made a thumper? im wondering what kinda size i would need for 100L boiler with a 6"? I have a big piece of 8" i was going to make into a thumper. I'm going to measure the milk can without the lid on and maybe discard the lid and get a ferrule welded onto it.

Is there any easy way to file down the tees to make it flat? When i cut them i noticed i cut them on the angle a bit, so they arent at straight as i would like it.

i used my old 500mm packed section as my PC. But i still need to solder the internals in. Im thinking 6 x 1/2" pipes. Should be alright ?

I still need a few things. Just finding time is hard.

Search for in-line thumpers, there is a good build on here.
You can always split your 8" to make it a bigger diameter.
Then make 2 reducers down to 6".

Wrap a bit of paper around the tee just under the crooked cuts till the edge of the paper lines up and scribe a line then just file down till you reach the line and hey presto flat-ish surface.

Looks bloody fantastic!

A Dremel with various sanding bits and lots of others that can be used for cleaning prep before soldering etc...and a linisher. Both of these (and I'm no expert either) made my build successful and I'm convinced I wouldn't have even finished without them.

Cheers,

Chocko

I believe you want to try and load all the alcohol from your wash into the thumper, then open the RC and draw it all out.

All the info you need, You will find searching for in-line thumpers. Build section I believe.

Looks good mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You'll need to calculate how much alcohol your plates will hold then make the thumper big enough to hold the predicted remaining amount of alcohol from that wash.

Good luck :handgestures-thumbupleft:

:angry-banghead: lol sounds harder then it looks
I had a good read over that inline thumper thread and will need to sit down and do the maths on it all.
