I dont beleive the 2" to 4" poses much of an issue.
In the world of thermodynamics, i'm sure you would use some energy in speeding up the vapor, then having it slow down as it expands into the 4", but for distilling it matters little.
The fact that we usualy have more heat available than what we need, and we are not counting inputs like the commercial guys do, means a lot of guys get away with it.

I prefer a 4" opening in the boiler, but thats just me, and a few other wallys here. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

EG, your reported rates of 3.5 and 2.5 L p/h...were they from a 10% wash, or 40% low wines charge?

And what kind of power were you running at? 3600W?

The flavored run would have been about 8%, possibly 10%, most of my washes I aim for about 8% (3.5l/h)
The vodka run would have been about 10% plus some feints, so maybe 12 or 13%...? (2.5l/h)

On a 3 ring banjo burner, running the middle ring at half throttle about 95kpa. You will have to convert that to watts, but 3600 would work ok for one of these. A controller might be a handy addition, 3600 would be on the high side I imagine.
