just thinking of a cheaper option for myself but could the gin basket double as a scoria packed section

I guess so, the basket is only 75mm long though but if made longer the retainer would be perfect to hold lava rock :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I was thinking this should go on top of the reflux condenser so only the vapour being taken off the still is being infused with botanicals ;-)

just trying to think of a way to start with a standard wash and end up with gin (or any other flavoured vodka or schnapps) in one run from a plated still ;-) still trying to work out a perfect all rounder , do it all still

Yeah that's why I think on top of the reflux is the way to go, with the packed section under the condenser.

Then only the vapour being taken from the still is infused & not refluxed removing flavour :D

Ah yes of cause :-B
Edit ok but either way the vapour will still need to going through basket section before passing through the reflux condenser though , yeah :-B

No not the way I'm building the new rig :D

Sorry for the confusion mate, the rig in this thread has been sold, the gin basket is going on one the same but with a clamp on the top of the defuggerator :handgestures-thumbupleft:
