Punchy's Bubbler

Perforated & bubble cap plated columns

Punchy's Bubbler

Postby punchy21 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 9:08 pm

This build has been inspired by all the builds that members have generously taken the time to document and share so before I begin I would like to say thank you :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ok here we go... The plan is to go 4 plates using 4" equal tees with bubble caps, probably a 100mm or less reflux condenser and a 2.5" product condenser with parrot attached.

This will be a bit of gradual build up as I dont have access to a plumbing shop just down the road unfortunately. I managed to get the ferrules soldered on today so the build is officially under way...

Any comments or suggestions welcome...

Here is a little progress report form the last couple of days...

105mm diameter plates with a 40mm high bubble cap with 6-7mm high slots 5mm apart over a 35 mm high riser. Downcomer is 20mm with a 25mm cup

Here it is mocked up...

I was really nervous about soldering up the RC but after fucking up the holes - 1 is too close to the centre, hopefully it wont be an issue? Pressure test still to come though...
