Doing another nuetrel run with copper mesh in the packed section versus the scoria. Not exactly the same low wines this is an all feints run from TPW where the last was just a strip then spirit. Both boiler charges being 40%.

The copper is winning for ABV, haven't been able to get it to go below 95 :laughing-rolling

I had the cooling water back to 400ml per minute and was pulling 95% at 2.6L per hour which seems to be the least amount my PC can have before the output starts to warm up. Before my next nuetrel run I will redo the plumbing now that I am confident in my ability to run this beast :D

Will be interesting to see at what point the ABV drops with the mesh

Currently back at the 2.5L an hour and you would swear tasting it off the still it is 10% it is damn smooth :happy-partydance:

Just having the one valve on the inlet to the RC and having an extra take off from the PC so I will still get the pre warmed water to the RC but more flow through the PC :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Forgot to add in here that the last run was part fail and part success.

Fail because I was in a rush and forgot to install the bottom plate, so was only running four :angry-banghead:

Success because with the packed section of copper mesh I still pulled 95% :happy-partydance:

Was a different run as I different have my usual burner, I was using my original single ring burner which needed to be at full noise just to keep the plates loaded :))

Flow through the RC was down to about 200ml a minute and takeoff was aboud 2L per hour :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Wonder what I could pull with 3 plates and a packed section

yeah I have had really good results running just 4 plates and a packed section of 400mm, I've just ordered a packed section for my 6" rig too :happy-partydance:
