modular boka/plated/pot still

Postby ufo8mycow » Sat May 04, 2013 12:42 pm

I currently have a 3" boka with a 50" column and a removable head attached with a tri clamp and I am concidering making it into a dual porpose unit and was wondering if there was a reason it wouoldnt work.

I will use the 3"50" column install 4 sight glasses towards the bottom and build a removable plate tree and a dephlag with a 3" to 2" reducer to go on top of it with triclamp and then use my 2" potstill head (2 dwv 90's to make a 180) and 2"x24" shotgun with 4 1/2" pipes inside

If this all will work out how far apart would the plates need to be and how long would the deplag need to be if i use 4 3/4" pipes inside

Thanks

If I understand correctly I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work.

For your reflux condenser you can get away with it being pretty short, quite a few of us here have been playing around with reduced volume RC's with great results, however 100mm is the norm :handgestures-thumbupleft:
