Well the cleaning run is finally underway. Had a few leaks to sort out along the way but she's all running sweet now.

Had one issue when I got it up to temp where the bottom plate had hardly any liquid on it, but the second bottom plate was flooded half way up the sight glass :scared-eek: The top 3 all appeared normal. I assume that because I was using the full 4800W to get it up to temp that it overloaded that plate and even with the power dropped back 2400W it wasn't enough to allow it to recover? I switched the power off for 30 seconds or so, switched it back on and it's been fine since.

Bottom plate.

That's pretty normal behaviour actually, next time it does it just flick the power off for 5 seconds and back on.... the vapor is just bypassing the plate through the DC and not allowing the DC to fill with liquid.

Once the DC's are locked in it'll run faultlessly :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers mate, knew it'd be something simple like that. Running smoothly at the moment, putting out about 92%ABV indicated in the parrot. I've got the coolant down fairly low as it's only a cleaning run, but this stuff already smells better than the product from the T500 and it's made up mostly of feints :laughing-rolling: :happy-partydance:

Yeah I'm not that keen, the booze gods can have that lot. Loading her up with a batch of BWKO now, might have to sample that through the run

Time to put baby to bed. Boy the tails certainly have a smell all of their own coming out of this thing :wtf: Looking forward to making cuts later in the day and get some of this gear on oak, then get the next gen kicked off :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ended up keeping a bit over 2.5 litres @ 65%ABV. It's stored in a glass container now with 2 charred oak dominoes. I'm still flying blind as far as keeping a little tails to blend, but I ditched the lot this time cause they smelt feral :handgestures-thumbdown:

Just cranking up a rum run now :happy-partydance:
