The first module on top of your boiler does that hold copper mesh if so how is it contained in there

No copper mesh in the first module. That is only to provide height for the downcomer in the first plate so it didn't dip into the boiler.

Thanks bushy. It's my pride and joy in the shed. I only wanted to make it once so I made it count. Was always impressed by the finish on all the polished copper commercial stills I saw. I'm in the progress of finishing off the bubble cap plates I originally started for this build. When I get some pictures I will load them up.

Sorry, I used 3/4" on my RC, and I think the PC was 1/2".

May seem like a dumb question but when making the module wouldn't it be better if the t piece was low as possible to get a better view of the plate or is there other factors which determine where it's situated as I'm currently building my modules and am unsure if I should cut the hole low or in the centre cheers

Just keep inind the clearance required to fit your clamps.
You could solder the plate in higher so that the bubbles' genesis is visible but then you have to solder it in level, its a bit easier to just clamp them between the ferrules and have to look into the module.

Or build a glasser.

If you have sorted it so there are no hassles with assmbly then by all means go for it.

Centralizing the sight glass is just for looks, it looks more balanced in the middle rather than lower.

But its your baby.

You need an address for the $10? :teasing-neener:
