4 Inch Bubbler Plans

Postby kingy » Fri Jun 28, 2013 11:14 am

I wish there was an itemised drawing of a 4 inch copper bubbler so I could just order the parts and put one together. It's gunna take me a while to get my head around it.
Or I could just get the stainless one, mmm so shiny easy to clean.

Pretty sure there is an A0 sized drawing somewhere

Old Dogs magic flute, I think. Just edit that as per your requirements

Why would you have only two sight glasses ?
The thing is Kingy, these are a bit of a challenge. If you're challenged by the idea of a material list you may be better off buyin one of Macs.
Just sayin. And those things sure are shiny. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Minimise cost and effort, the top and bottom ones are the most important.

To get my head around how it worked and what was needed I drew it all up.
Seemed to help.
It takes time but the end result is you know what you need and what you are doing . . . . mostly

15% silver solder where I live is about $11 a 1.5mm stick and 45% is just over $12 go figure?
Don't forget to add some 3" tube to flatten out and make the bubbler plates - say about 1/2 mtre $?

Sadly I had to buy my 4", 3" and 2" hole saws as well.... $150 or thereabouts through Bunnings.

2 inch pipe is all you'll need to make 4 inch plates.

If your going to do a perf plate bubbler I would seriously consider getting some of Mac's plates. They will save you a whole lot of time and effort.

My mistake... oops
Of course, you're right :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

I couldn't think why I was using 3" and then I remembered.
I had it available - and I can get two plates from one piece. :D :D

Well if you've got it ya may as well use it! I made my 2 inch plates from 1 inch tube cause I was originally gonna make a 3 inch bubbler and had already cut and annealed the 1 inch. Could have used 3/4 inch instead.
