Just a dodgey video on my phone and excuse the rough leak repair on the bottom module im yet to clean that up. you can see the finished job on my boiler with wheels and drains to.

Thanks guys it means a lot coming from guys like yourselves. I could not wipe the smile off my face once that first plate loaded up. I run it right down to 20% just cos I didn't want to shut it down. I cant wait to get some booze happening. Gotta wait for the Mrs to go to town cos I got no yeast.

Mate the planning was all good had 2 time in the freezer until the Mrs went through it n tossed it cos it was old. :angry-banghead: Did consider sacking her but I need her to get more.

I'm just farkin amazed at the boiler view. For some reason i thought the boiling was gonna be a bit more low key than that. How many watts u runnin dude?

Heat Bushy I was surprised at how rapid the boil was as well that video is just 1 x 2400 watt element.

Not sure if it will be a people but the flow to my condensers was extreamly low like less than 1 LPM and was difficult to fine tune with the gate valve. I am running on mains water and just one valve into PC then into the RC. Has anyone tried detuning their RC by adding something inside it to reduce the volume of it. Mine is 4" x 4 & 3/8" with 7 1" tubes. Or maybe a pressure reducer would help. I think I will run the condenser s seperate next time.

Everyone will differ slightly but with my setup it is usually in the 400 - 500ml per minute range :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ok thanks mate so mine may not be a problem just need to get something better to control the flow as the gate valve was only j just opened a fraction to get it right. Very hard to fine tune.

Yeah mate they are very fine to tune but it can be done easy enough with a gate valve, good trick is to have a look before you hook it up and feel how much it takes to close it completely then how much it takes before it opens. There is always slack either way as well, but if you know what to expect it isn't that bad :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I have a 600mm section of 4" copper that I had planned to use as a packed section. I am wondering if I am better to use it to make a section with say 4 more plates on a tree type setup just blind no SGs. What would be better?
