You shouldn't need much flow but that will also depend on your water tank temperature, a couple of liters per minute should see you write.

Thanks 1 2 many I can't find a decent pump with lower l/h ratings. There all the type you could drain a pool with. And all the links in old posts no longer go to the right link so can't see what people have been using.

Make a manifold that your pump feeds with 3 outlets 2 to the bubbler and 1 back to tank to bled off any extra flow

Just remember guys, the further the pump needs to push the water will dramatically affect the head ;-)

Yep! I had a 350w and it didn't quite cut it so I went for the 750w and it works a treat :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ive found on my Sac run with the FSD neutraliser the 350W cannot knock down the vapour of 2 x 2.4kw elements but easily controls a single 2.4Kw element.

in fact to get any output I almost have to turn my RC control valve off.

Does anyone else experience this?

Sounds perfectly normal to me :handgestures-thumbupleft:

4800w to heat up then back to 2400w for the run, your gate valve will be barely open for the majority of your run except for at start up with full flow, and then closed for stripping tails.

Not sure why you're trying to full reflux at 4800w :think:

Honestly because I was busy taking photos of my new still and showing my wife the pretty bubbles across the plates.

Then I noticed the output.

Yes, same here. I find it interesting that others here use such huge pumps. I'm using a 36 watt aquarium pump. With an inline flow control on the RC and on the PC it can knock down anything I can throw at it. The only flow limitation I have is the 3/8" copper tubing on the inlet of the parrot. A larger capacity parrot is the next project.

But maybe it might pay to go the 750W pump to be sure, as there are guys saying that 350W doesn't really cut it.

The 550 watt pump has better efficiency compared to the 750 watt pump. The 550 watt is capable of pumping an 8.5m head compared to the 750 watt pump's 8m head, and there will be reduced power costs with the 550 watt pump.

Thinking back a little as to why I went the 750w I was running a 6" rig on a 100L boiler at around 4500w for the run.

Being that you guys are mostly using 4" rigs on smaller boilers I cant see any need for more than the 350w pump unless you're pumping long distances.

My pump shat itself and I have a 2000L water tank that collects waste water from our evap system when we turn it off, it's a 2hp Davey and does a fine job of getting the water to my new still spot up at the house, I just run it flat out using my product condenser as the relief line when adjusting the RC to all but a trickle for the hearts run.

I guess everyone has different temps and distances to deal with but my still is about 4.5m away from my ibc I was using a 350 ozito and could only hold full reflux at about 1800w , I upgraded today to a 750w and can hold all but 2400w. So for me I reckon the upgrade is worth while, but that is just my 2c :-p

Yeah that is a good point BIg D, you are pumping over a bigger distance than compared to mine where the coolant tank is right next to the boiler so my total length is less than two meters, that's probably why I get away with the 350W pump. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Im running a gravity fed system with a bilge pump and all working great. I have a little sensor that knows when to turn pump on and off. an electronic mate made it for me. didn't want to have a pump working continuously.

As long as you have a constant flow/pressure it should be fine. As soon as you have fluctuations to the RC a bubbler won't run properly :handgestures-thumbupleft:
