In the meantime today i decided to start measuring up and cutting ,,, before i knew it i had soldered the top half and cut 4 plates to which i now have to flatten. so all i need now is 1 more 2" coupling and 3 x 3" ferrules.

Had a crack at soldering to Stainless steel. Definitely much harder , not impossible ... will just have to clean up those runs but they will buff out

Plan is now to have Stainless RC and shotgun with Stainless Glass mounts ,,,, copper plates and 4x glass sections and the top is going to be blinged out copper porn

Its not the best pic , but its a quick clean up today... first pass at polishing , not bad for first round . might just leave the second pass until the project is finished

I file the big bits down with a fine file (takes like 5 min) then i sand it with 180 then 600 grit ... gave it a citric acid bath then polished it with these on a drill ( #3 wheel works fine if you have manually prepared it) i think all up it took me a hour.

Only One plate more to drill :handgestures-thumbupleft: RC is pretty much finished , im going to build the 4 plates then practice some more ... going to have copper pipes in the shotgun and RC to increase reflux capacity... would really want to tig copper/stainless ... though might have to stick to braising it.... still it will be stronger than soft solder... No more cracking :happy-partydance:
