Thanks for all the comments chaps ... I am a little bit in love at the moment and wanted to pull a sickie tonight but unfortunately I'm at work!
Day shift tomorrow so will be doing my sac run in the evening ... Then I've got a long long weekend :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Will be doing a TPW run then reducing to 4 plates for a CFW and a WBAB run.
Can't wait to put this beast in to action!!

Ok .... Not sure if I have a problem or not.

Did my sac run this evening and had the boiler charged with about 30 litres at around 25%

I had the still set up with all five plates and packed section stuffed with copper mesh and SS scrubbers

My issue is that I could not achieve full reflux

I ran with a single 2200w element. 350w Ozito water pump coming from a 200L drum. Water temp was 22•. I ran the PC wide open (haven't put a valve on it), after collecting fores opened the RC up so it was wide open as well .... But there was still a trickle coming out ... Probably about .6-.8l an hour even with RC fully open.

Thoughts are that I could try some SS in the RC tubes. Reduce the flow to the PC (thus increasing flow to RC) or use my power controller to reduce the power (I thought the RC would fully reflux 2200w with ease)

Any and all thoughts appreciated

It sounds like the water is taking the least path of resistance. I.e all going to the pc and its too hard work for the water to go through the tap on the rc. :-B
Edit I just had another look at your plumbing, and the hose for the rc is longer than the pc hose. So that the theoretical path of lease resistance is the pc.

With 2400w and my small RC I can't even get a trickle of product out without reducing the water flow to a trickle

They should be good for about 3kw

I run 4.8kw and it comes out at 3.8Lph with the water flow full open

Thanks for the reply Rum ...
The RC is naturally higher in this configuration so don't think I can make the hose shorter. Simple fix would be to get a valve on the PC as well so that I can restrict its flow I order to increase the RC flow.
I won't be able to get to bunnings for a while now and it's not a major issue so in the meanwhile I will run a TPW through this configuration and then reduce it down to just four plates for a CFW run and see how the RC handles this.

Just decided to do a stripping run of my TPW first.
About halfway through and my cooling water is getting pretty bloody hot
Still planning to do a CFW run through four plates straight after so will let you know how it goes

Lol I had to sell a few things to raise it. And the rest came from a savings fund for wifeys 40th. I saw it as an interest free loan to myself and have just upped the payments in to the savings account a little to compensate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Does this bath depth look about right?
Also is it normal for the bottom plate to be slightly less active than the top. It's bubbling just not as hard.
