So it looks like I'm going to build! I'm inherently lazy so will opt for an easy build and a few parts off the shelf.

She will be named after a girl I once knew Amber, not the prettiest of them. She was a Lil dirty and sure did put out the the good stuff.

Anyway the build will be 4in six plate blockhead with a 600mm long 3in condenser. A gin basket will be made to slide in and out of the top. It will have a 500mm packed section for vodka.

So I'm using 4in T piece and making easy flange to fit sight glass and join the semi modular sections.
I'll have a single a double and a triple plate section so any combination from 1through 6 plates can be used.

I spent half the day under the house and have cut the shell, end caps and baffles for the product condenser.
Cut the reflux condenser shell
Bent and cut ten 4in easy flange rings
Cut and hard soldered a couple easy flanges
Cut and hard soldered the 3inch for the blockhead to top of product condenser.

Now kicking back with a rum and soda!

I think we all known a girl like Amber :laughing-rolling:

U don't think u should have a 500mm packed section instead of the 6th plate?

Well it's going to have a 500mm section and for easy of construction and being able to make any combination of plates from 1 through to 6 I'm building a single plate section a two plate section and a three plate section.

So it will both. The type of vodka I like is a very tight cut grain or potato with a small amount of flavour. However for gins I'll want a true neutral so everything will be used.

I'd have thought that two, two plate sections and a single plate as well as a half metre packed section and a gin basket would do everything u can ever need :?

A 3, a 2 and a 1 plate section is a bloody good idea... What type of plates are you going to use?

Woobltboot as I've never run a bubbler I'm allowing for experimental play. I have an idea that for the vodka I like I'll end up using six plates with very tight cuts.

Zac as I mentioned in my first post I'm about as lazy as you'll ever find in the hardworking section lol so I think I'll by some from fsd. That could change though.

Rum, I have close fitting safety glasses. After seven years living on a steel boat I've mastered the art of pulling metal from flesh :laughing-rolling:

I thought I hated metal work but it turns out it's not so bad when everything is at waist hight and it's rolling side to side. :angry-banghead:

Ok so I've managed to find a few hours to play around and this is what I did.

Shitty finished. 600mm x 3in. With seven 19mm rubes with two baffles. I had three small leaks. Which were easy to touch up. It holds up to the full pressure of the pump 55psi

Thanks!

For the reflux condenser I was thinking 120mm high with 7 x 19mm tubes is that going to be enough or should I be looking to fit more in?

Thats almost exactly what I use. Mine is 5" which is 127mm. It will knock down 5kw easy. I do use a flow meter on my water input though. Best investment ever that meter.
