Not sure zac they are fsd bubble plates brazed onto 4in and trimmed down to fit inside the 4x4x4 T pieces.

So I've made six of these two for the peepers and four as joiners for the ends of the sections.
I cut a short piece of pipe to join the T pieces together and trimmed the plates down to size.

So here's a mock up. The ends of the three plate section still needs to be brazed and the two plate section still needs to be brazed but I'm out of lpg so I'm sitting down listening to xavier rudd with a rum...

Cheers rum I'm by no means up to the standard of other builders but I can cut reasonbly straight and happy to sand or file till I have blisters to ensure its square and will seal.

You might be able to notice I've sanded too much off the top sight glass on the three plate section and while it does seal water tight I'm nervous about it. I may reapply lots of silver braze and start sanding all over again on that one.

Thoughts?

Yeah unfortunately thats the only way to do it properly that I can think of. Yes you can just use a thicker seal for that one face, but looking at what you have done so far I see that cutting corners won't cut it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'd considered using fatter seals but I think that'll pass when my blisters settle down :laughing-rolling:
Not that I can feel them now :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

Wow this whole build is looking tops. I like it how you fabricated your own ferrule type joins for the tee's. I wanted to use tee sections like that with stainless steel ferrules but the cost was very prohibitive. I'm pretty much going to copy your RC as well haha. I'm keen to see this unfold. Nice work!

Ah thanks for the kind words rocky. Nothing original about the pc. Just amalgamated the bits that appealed to me from other builds.

Loving this build!

If my 4" pipe hasn't already been cut up into modules when I got it, I reckon I would've built a more solid bodied still. Probably a 3 plate section, a single plate section and then a single plate + packed section.

Good to see some thinking outside the box :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Well I got the rest silver soldered and for the most part have a completed 3plate and a 2plate sections.
That's the Good news

The bad is that the faces of the flanges no longer hold water and pisses like a racehorse!

So I am going to have to build up the faces of all flanges and then sand them flat. Undoing 2days hard work sanding :angry-banghead: for the sake of a cpl hours brazing :violence-smack:

Really wish I'd thought that one through. Oh and my blisters only just healed so I'm ready to go again :laughing-rolling:

Do they leak because they're not flat, or because the flange is now too thin? Would a second seal help?

Definitely not flat zac. The rings still have air and with the heat came pressure and re-annealing of the copper. It's gone almost round again lol.

So I cleaned up the faces applied a thick coating of soft solder to six flanges.

I sanded four back to flat. Which I then tested the sealing. Two are spot on and hold water with one seal. I looks spot on but due to it's position I couldn't test it. The other is too fat to get the clamp on even just with one seal and needs another mil or two sanded off.
