so looking to put a wash on today sometime but not going out to the shops for yeast. I do however have ONE sachet of tadaco yeast which is 7grams. Havent used tandaco before and im wondering if 7 grams will work if i treat it like EC1118 and re-hydrate etc.

can i get away with 1 sachet of re-hydrated tandaco in 40L of TPW with 6kg sugar? not after a slow ferment either so if best to wait i will.

I would say you are pushing shit uphill with that small a quantity of bakers yeast mate.

Having said that if you culture it up nicely and have optimum ferment parameters then it should do the job, still wouldn't expect a super fast ferment.

Also depends how old the yeast is etc.

Up to you if you want to try it, can always add more yeast when you get it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

off to shops tomorrow so i might wait. its the wives from bread baking but im sure it has been in the fridge for over 10months. I dont trust it that much which is why i asked so to avoid pushing shit up hill ill wait till tomorrow and roll it down hill instead :))

Only coles didnt have Lowens like usual they only had Tandaco so i picked up an 84 gram pack of a bunch of sachets, cost as much as a tin of lawans :mad: . how many grams of tandaco should i use?

all of it or half?

dont really care if i need to put all in, just wondering if 80 grams of tandaco is a lot? never used tandaco before

I used 5 sachets years ago for a TPW, worked fine. Made a starter, let it go, took about 2 days longer from memory. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
